Our final test on our reading of  Seedfolks is this Thursday.  We will play a review game on Wednesday!

Friday will be our second quiz on our Daily Doses.

Parents will begin receiving reading alerts this week.  This alert will let you know how close your child is to meeting his or her reading goal.  The first 400 page deadline is September 15th.

Welcome to the 7th Grade!  It is going to be a fantastic year!

Welcome to the 7th Grade!  We're going to have a fantastic year!

Please visit this page whenver you have questions about what is happening in language arts or if you need information regarding homeroom.  If you need to contact me personally, you can do so via e-mail:  carla.hernandez@hcbe.net or via a phone call:  478-231-8486.

Day 1

We had a wonderful first day! We are getting acquainted with each other and learning the new procedures and guidelines for 7th grade.  We will have a quiz on class procedures next Monday, the 7th.  This will not be their first recorded grade for the year, however.  They can earn a good grade to kick off the year just by turning in their paperwork from their homeroom folder!  Your child will have a black pocket folder full of information for you to discuss with him/her.  Completing and signing these to return to me by Friday earns them a good, easy grade.  So if your child is in my homeroom then that is what they should focus on doing for me this evening.  If your child is not in my homeroom, then the procedures quiz on Monday will be the first entered into IC.  Have a great evening!

ELA

I can't wait to begin working with my  new students!  We'll begin our first (partial) week learning what is expected of them and me.  They will familiarize themselves with class procedures as well getting an idea of what we'll be learning this year in language arts.

"A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies, said Jojen.  The man who never reads lives only one."
